For over 25 years, Antec is known for its electrochemical detectors (ECD), providing unprecedented sensitivity in HPLC analyses. In almost any kind of application in conventional HPLC, UHPLC, Micro-, Capillary- and Nano HPLC, ECD is extremely selective and sensitive. It is applied routinely in a number of analyses such as neurotransmitters, (poly)phenols, carbohydrates, and a large variety of pharmaceutical compounds. The DECADE Elite detector with its advanced electronics provides an enormous linear dynamic range of more than 6 orders of magnitude. The DECADE Elite is used in Antec’s ALEXYS systems and is compatible with any commercial HPLC or UHPLC system such as Waters, Agilent, Thermo-Fisher, Shimadzu, Jasco, Perkin Elmer, and Knauer.
The DECADE Lite is a typical low cost entry model of an electrochemical detector and has therefore fewer features than the DECADE Elite. It can control only one flow cell (single cell control) and can be operated only in DC (direct current) mode. No pulse or scan mode are available. Furthermore, it has no keyboard and is operated by PC control. Sensitivity wise there is no difference between DECADE Lite and Elite. It has an integrated oven with Faraday cage, is equipped with the superior ADF (advanced digital filter) and is compatible with all Antec Scientific flow cells.
The DECADE Elite uses Antec’s workstation concept, keeping the column and flow cell (separation and detection) at a very accurate and stable temperature. Stable working conditions are a prerequisite for trace analysis, without stability no sensitivity! In addition, the DECADE Elite has ADF (advanced digital filter) which is a noise elimination algorithm specially developed for electrochemical data. It further improves the detection limit, depending on conditions up to a factor 200. Detection sensitivity is especially eminent in neurotransmitter analysis. Together with the new SenCell bottom line detection limits down to 30 pmol/L have been obtained in 2 μL sample. Antec provides a number of amperometric flow cells with different features for specific applications.
